BLACK LIVES MATTER

As we write this George Floyd is being laid to rest in Houston. We cannot remain silent as senseless acts of violence are committed against black people in America with astonishing regularity. Our failure to acknowledge this injustice is an affront to our black friends and colleagues. We want to be able to say to them that we hear them, that we see them, and that we accept the challenge to effect positive change inside our organization, and in our profession.

This week we worked on our plan to further diversity and inclusion. We made our first contribution to the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) Pipeline Program, a program that introduces 'minority students with a focus on black students to architecture with the ultimate goal of creating more licensed black architects'. We also supported the NAACP. This is a beginning, not an end and as we move forward, we are committed to learning how we can do better and be better.
