About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a senior level Environmental Graphic Designer with a minimum of ten years’ experience working in the built environment and brand strategy to join our EGD team.
The EGD team at Blitz is responsible for the design of graphics, signage, wayfinding, and specialty installations for projects ranging from corporate offices to high-end retail spaces. The EGD team leads all graphic design and production in coordination with the associated architectural and interior design team. We are looking for a confident and experienced designer with a history of leading projects in the built environment. The ideal candidate possesses an expertise in Environmental Graphic design built environments, experiential design and brand identity.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of creative thinking and memorable work. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 10 years’ professional experience with environmental graphic design in the built environment with an emphasis on signage, wayfinding, illustration and branding. Graphic Design experience only will NOT be considered.
BA or higher degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or similar.
Thorough understanding of branding and design principles that relate to two- and three-dimensional design.
Mastery of typography, layout, and color.
Understanding of fundamental wayfinding design principles including spatial analysis, user research + testing, language + legibility, and information design.
Expert proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite as it relates to architectural projects, with the added ability of communicating ideas in sketches and renderings; Enscape skills a huge plus.
Familiarity with the architectural process, including the ability to read construction documents, elevations, plans, and shop drawings. Revit and CadTools experience is a major plus.
Working knowledge of the California Building Code and/ or Local Building Codes.
Understanding of graphics production and fabrication techniques for both interior and exterior applications.
Experience as the key design decision-maker for projects and can lead projects while collaborating with team through all phases of a project.
Experience leading a team of designers.
Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver design concepts and direction to both project team and client.
Experience designing to a construction budget.
Experience coordinating with fabricators and graphics vendors throughout installation process.
Experience with graphics project pricing and bidding processes.
Experience designing specialty installations and coordinating with local artists is a plus.
Strong presentation skills; excellence in clearly communicating ideas visually and verbally to clients.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must currently reside in and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
Candidates must be able to work from either our SF or LA office.
Candidates must be able to travel to other studios as required.
