Two Umbrellas - One Concept

Parapluie (French for “ umbrella” as in rain protection) is a concept for a multi-story brewpub, fine dining space and marketplace all in one. Imagined to be built in Sonoma County, the building celebrates the beautiful Northern California weather via numerous outdoor connections: a large patio, second floor deck, and extensive windows and openings.

The ground floor includes a beer hall with multiple food stalls and a large bar that opens onto a sizable patio garden. A vibrant mural and neon signs celebrate the brewery’s k-9 namesake ‘Piranha Dog’, made onsite using locally grown hops; its tanks are highlighted at the entry.

Additionally, a retail space is stocked with homebrew equipment and materials for all levels of brewmasters.

The second level is home to Parasol (French for “sun/beach umbrellla”), a formal restaurant and cocktail bar that combines agrarian architecture and lux materials. Additional gathering areas include an impressive deck for outdoor dining, and an intimate lounge called Balcon that overlooks the brewery.

Parasol and Parpluie are envisioned to be the weeknight and weekend gathering space for the community where all is in one place. A space where the entreprenurial restauranteur can cover many clientels:

Craving a craft beer and some nerd talk with fellow brew enthusiasts? - Parapluie
Just want to hang in a beer garden; bring kids and dogs for a chill sunset on weeknights? - Parapluie
Fancy a nice dinner with local wines? - Parasol
Small bites and a cocktail? - Balcon
